Sonoma County Housing Authority Waitlist Lottery to Open 10/1-10/31

The Sonoma County Housing Authority is happy to announce that it will be opening its Housing Choice Voucher waitlist lottery October 1 -31. The Housing Choice Voucher program – formerly known as the Section 8 program – provides financial assistance to very low-income individuals and families to enable them to afford housing in the private rental housing market.
After the close of the application period, 750 applicants will be randomly selected for placement on the waitlist. All those who are placed on the waitlist can expect to have an opportunity for service within two years. For those who are not placed on the waitlist, application periods for project based voucher waitlists will be opening in the near future.
